A great feeling (Part 1)…

Hey Everyone,

I would like to share something I read on a daily basis. I received it in an email few years ago so if you get a chance, save it and read it daily; it will not only make you feel alive but give you positive vibes/feelings. So here it is:

1. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
2. Don’t have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment
3. Don’t over do; keep your limits
4. Don’t take yourself so seriously because no one else does
5. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past that will ruin your present happiness.
9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
10. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil your present.
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appeard and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more….
14. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Have a great Wednesday!

Dump it or Pump it – Part 5

Origins – Super Spot Remover Acne treatment Gel

I have minor acne on my face and sometimes the pimples can be painful. I usually get a prescribed tropical medicine from the doctor called Solugel 8 which is really strong. It dries the pimple the next day but that area gets dark in a day or two and darker when I go under the sun. It ruins my pillow covers or the shirts that touches that cream, usually happens with a tropical medicine. And it tickles a lot when it’s first put on a new pimple, then the burning feeling goes away in 5-10 minutes. I wanted to try a safer product because the dark marks were not going away that easy and I thought my skin was taking a traumatic experience. I decided to try Origins Super Spot Remover Acne treatment Gel from Sephora. It’s a gel based product in a very small green bottle, and is approximately $18. I felt it was pricey but you only need a little to work.

I put it on my pimples on a daily basis and the bottle finished in two months. The reason I tried this is, I have tried two more products from Origins (Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask and Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser); both exceeded my expectations so I was pretty confident about this product. Again everyone is different but if you are not sure, you can always grab a sample from Sephora or Shoppers Drug mart. My pimples diminishes in a day or two and my acne is in control since I have been using Origins products, I definitely recommend this product people with acne as its more effective. Keep in mind, this is all my opinion and I have not been paid to blog about it.

Don’t waste this product by putting it everywhere, you only need little bit to put on the spot and keep putting it every day till it dies down, it doesn’t even leave any marks on the pillow and you can put in a way that it can hide beneath the make-up, I sometimes put it twice a day, but I know once a day is more than enough. Hope my two cents helped you all, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Final Verdict: PUMP IT!

Dump it or Pump it – Part 4

The two places I purchase face products are from Sephora and Shoppers Drug mart. There are three reasons:
1. You can always get a sample before purchasing the products as most of them are not cheap
2. If it gives you a reaction you can always return and get your money back. I think the money back guarantee is  a great option
3. At both of these locations, you can always collect points to redeem in the future for dollar or products, which is a plus for sure.

After a month of trying the charcoal mask and letting the previous face wash finish, I decided to buy Origins face wash from Sephora;  this is a face wash specifically for oily skin that controls acne. I use it twice a day (morning and night) and it helps my skin to stay hydrated and eliminate excess oily (as my skin is very oily). I started using this once a day to twice a day in a week’s time.

The oiliness has calmed down and my skin feels softer and refreshed after 4-5 uses; I find every origin product has a unique smell (minty and saw palmetto) which is not too strong. This has no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dues, synthetic fragrances, which is awesome as most of the branded products would have these ingredients. Also, I am using this product with my Clarisonic and its really controlling my acne. One face wash tube can last from 1.5 to 2 months and you only need the dime size of the gel wash. In the beginning, it gives you the tingly feeling but it dies down in few more washes.  This foaming cleanser claims to clear pores, eliminate excess oil and reduce shine which is true. I already purchased the new tube and would give it a thumbs up.

I also realized in the last few months that spicy food and/or candies can give me pimples on the face, so I am trying to stay away from it. Sometimes, it’s good to keep an eye on the things you eat as well, it might affect you in a certain way. Back to the product, this product cost was approximately $26, and it lasted me 2 months, which means it cost me $13 bucks a month.

Final Verdict: PUMP IT!

Origins – Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

Clear Improvement™ Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores

Clear Improvement™ Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores

This is the first item I tried from Origins as there were a lot of Youtubers raving about it. The first time I used it, I felt my skin tighter and too clean but did not see a difference in the pores. As I purchased from Sephora (approximately $28-$30), the beauty expert suggested to use it twice a week and leave it on for an hour. She said not to use the hands but a foundation brush so I kept one of my cheaper brush for this job. Little background: I have oily skin and acne on the lower side of the cheek, jaw line and chin. The tube was used by myself and a friend, she probably used it few times as well and it ended in about two months, but if you use twice a week, this can last one up to 2 to 2.5 months for sure. After two months of using it, I find my skin squeaky clean and more tighter and firmer. You definitely need a face cloth to remove it because once it dries, you wet your towel with warm water to wash it off, it takes super-duper long as its charcoal. When you use a cloth, it comes off faster but the face cloth gets horrible. I wash all my face towels with bleach end of every week so they get clean but u still see some dark marks on them.

This product has amazing reviews everywhere but one has to understand when one thing works for one person it might not work for another person. The texture is very smooth and easier to put on face especially with the brush, plus it’s in a tube so its more hygienic. If you have recently purchased it, stay away from it for few days before applying it again, better to be safe than sorry. And this cannot by any means be used on a daily basis for people who have sensitive skin. I already purchased the new tube and would give it a thumbs up.

Final Verdict: PUMP IT!
